Hi! My name is Isvari (pronounced Eesh-wuh-ree). I’m a war and espionage author, a freelance columnist for the Boston Globe, a singer, a pianist, and an artist. I’m an ex-physicist, I’m a current nerd, and I somehow have over 200K LinkedIn followers, though I came to Facebook in 2017 and am a nobody on Twitter.
In my normal life, I’m a Attorney Advisor (read: lawyer) working for the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service. I graduated from Georgetown Law in 2017, where I was a Global Law Scholar, and I then worked at Sidley Austin, a boring law firm. I’ve worked for Ingenico (in Brussels, Belgium), the U.S. Department of State, the Pentagon, the Federal Communications Commission, and the Center for the Study of Science, Technology, and Policy in Bangalore, India. I got my Bachelors from U.C. Berkeley in Political Science in 2014, where I was a Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholar.
I also used to be in physics and math. I’ve researched in mathematics, astronomy, astrophysics, and particle physics, and I’ve worked at Fermilab (Batavia, Illinois), CERN (Geneva, Switzerland), and the Lawrence Berkeley Lab (Berkeley, California). I also can program and one of my favorite things at Georgetown Law was teaching Computer Programming for Lawyers with Paul Ohm. I have read Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein for fun, enjoy Marvel, really enjoy Lord of the Rings, and have terrible eye-sight. See? Nerd.
I’ve worked in animal rights law on an International Convention on the Rights of Cetaceans and volunteered for breast cancer awareness, for worldwide literacy (my sister and I actually started a foundation!), for senior living centers, for educational programs in the U.S., and for the blind. I even started to learn Braille. It’s really hard.
I also love traveling and learning languages (I speak six). When I have time for fun besides writing, music, and art, I ice-skate, play board games, hang out with my amazing friends, my sister, my parents, and the love of my life, and play with the world’s cutest dog, Rishi.
For more about me, here are some news articles. I’m always excited to meet new people virtually or in person, so please reach out!
